格子柄は農家ごとに異なりそれぞれ自分達の 「家の柄」として

織られるもののようです。現代の日本では考えられない

ゆったりとした時間の流れを感じさせてくれます。

"DOFU" was made with a homespun technique,

the great fortune from ancient Chinese farmers,

these uneven cotton threads feel rough but warm to the touches.

The argyle designs represent each  family as an emblem.

These elaborate textiles were very scarce

and production required a great deal of time and care

in the slow-fused good old days that we wish you to cherish.
