"DOFU" CHINESE HOMESPUN

中国の農村で古代からの技法をそのままに、

綿を手紡ぎして手織りにした「土布」は荒削りながら

やさしい温もりの感じられる手触りです。

格子柄は農家ごとに異なりそれぞれ

自分達の「家の柄」として織られるもののようです。

現代の日本では考えられないゆったりとした

時間の流れを感じさせてくれます。

"DOFU" was made with a homespun technique,

the great fortune from ancient Chinese farmers,

these uneven cotton thread feel rough

but warm to the touches.

The argyle designs represent each family as an emblem.

These elaborate textiles were very scarce and production required a great deal of time and care in the slow-fused good old days that we wish you to cherish.
