鯉のぼり ／ CARP-SHAPED STREAMER

鯉のぼりの母鯉です。

両ひれはそのまま残しました。

現在では雨風に強いポリエステル素材が主流ですが、

これは4-50年前のもので、素朴な染め具合が新鮮です。

For the Japanese boy’s festival, families

raise colorful carp-shaped flags called “Koi-nobori”.

Each carp represents a member of the family;

this one was for the mother.

We purposely left her both fins.

Plain and earthy touches of dyeing are from almost

half a century ago. Waterproofing and wind breaking

polyester materials are mainly used for

“Koi-nobori” in nowadays.
