大漁旗 ／BIG CATCH FLAG

荒い木綿地の美しい大漁旗です。

惣内とは宮城でしょうか。

年季の入った旗ですが、布地の様子が珍しいものです。

こっくりとしたターメリックに似た黄色です。

This derives from those boat flags used by the old Japanese fishermen to signal to their loved ones that they had a great catch.

Cheerful designs and their boat-names are dyed.

Bold colors were eye grabbing among the most powerful waves,

and portraying a dominating presence that stood against the strongest winds.
