東北地方の丸にサの印半纏です。

印半纏は背中の印で、着ているだけで、その人がどの組に属しているか、どの

お店の出入りの者か、あるいはどんな職業の人間かを一目で分からせるものでした。

大工、鳶、植木屋、魚屋、など職人さん達が背中に江戸文字で自分達の職業

や屋号を染め、粋に着こなしていました。

この半纏はどんな仕事で活躍していたのか、知りたいところです。

"Hanten" was a Japanese padded cotton Workman's uniform.

The character "Sa" is designed with a circle onto this "Hanten"

that is from the Tohoku region. Carpenters, gardeners, grocers,

and other craftsmen proudly dyed the name of their group,store,or

occupation onto their back for identification. It is fun to imagine

the splendid work and history that this hanten may have gone through.
